So, mid season last year, during the writer strike, ABC debuted the best TV show in quite some time - Eli Stone. Similar in nature to some other shows such as Joan of Arcadia, it's the story of a young up and coming attorney who begins to have visions. Visions that change lives, save lives. His entire existance is turned upside down by the visions, which he initially believes are the result of an aneurism in his brain. It turns out however, that the visions are not caused by the terminal variety of neurological disorder that Eli has, but they are actually Visions given him by God.
The series itself proclaims no specific religious beliefs (other than the obivous christian overtones), in fact initially, Eli consults with a herbal and acupuncture therapist to help him sort through the dreams. The series itself however, proclaims no specific allegience to christianity, but Eli accomplishes miracles based on his other-worldly knowledge. Its been a fantastic drama, one that I intend on actually owning on DVD. It has great plots, fantastic actors, is brilliantly written and shot in San Francisco. Check it out folks, and if you like it, let ABC know, because they are on the verge of canceling it. I just wrote them a letter, and honestly.. I never do that. When Journey Man shut down, I was stunningly pissed about it. But didnt write. Sooo wish I had. Please, if you like the show and watch already... write em! Let ABC know that they shoudlnt shut down one of the best shows on TV. And if you live on a different continent and cant see the show - WRITE THEM ANYWAY! :D
