“What’s historical about a man being inaugurated that a bunch of racist blacks got elected to the presidency”

That statement came out of a sales guy in my office on Monday. You should all be proud of me folks, because I didn’t turn around and open a can of whoop-ass on him. I did however turn and say “Regardless of what you think about the man personally, it *is* a historical moment. And I plan to watch with anyone else who believes as I do, that it is most definitely time for a change”. Then turned my back on him. Because… I need this job. :D

In other news, my sons have both passed their exams and first semester classes. Which means therefore that Alex will be graduating this spring. So far. :D

Work is busy at the moment, we’ve had a series of hardware failures which have lead to a couple of late-night sessions of “What the hell do we do now…” This happens in the IT industry when you build a piece of technology, then ship it via Ex-Def and hope that they can actually READ the labels you put on the outside of the box. I would likely be less frustrated with them if the labels were seriously complicated, instead of “DO NOT STACK” and “THIS SIDE UP” and “HEAVY – TEAM LIFT REQUIRED”. That is sooo not happening. Not when tensile-steel braces and brackets are being bent 180-degrees in the opposite direction. Not when there are gouge marks a quarter inch deep on the top of the packing case. Not when the hinges and sides have been busted off then duct-taped back on. Not when the server has its drives packed in a bag inside the case, instead of in the hot-swappable rack it’s SUPPOSED to be mounted in. I honestly think this is what’s happening to my shipments:

Wonder if it will get delivered by Rhino next?
